Mega Man 4 Review

Well, we now move into the 4th Mega Man game that existed on the NES. This one was different in the sense you now gained the ability to have a Mega charge and of course two secret items found in two different stages. Some could say that Mega Man was getting stale but that's a matter of perspective and opinion. It's an acceptable game from the Mega Man series and doesn't do anything to make it feel unworthy of it.
Sure, it was the same style of game play but it works. There's an old saying that says if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The story was simple but with an added twist. Dr. Cossack had to build robots and his daughter was held hostage by Dr. Wily and was forced to work for him. It was all part of Dr. Wily's plan to try to take over the world.
It also was different as this was the first Mega Man game in the consoles to actually have two palaces. That was interesting and gave you more. You knew Wily would be the main villain as it is generally a Mega Man tradition. If in the classic series you didn't face him at all, then quite honestly it just wouldn't be a Mega Man game.
Mega Man 4 Review
This game really has a special place with me as I had played this when I was younger and enjoyed it. I remember renting it at Blockbuster when they used to have NES games for rent. Never could find it in stores when I was younger but I got the original and of course Anniversary Collection. I hope to see this get on the Virtual Console as it belongs there. There are many games to add to that service and hopefully one day it joins in.
Coming up will be Mega Man 5.
