As I continue this series and it's getting closer to the end, it's time to take a look at Mega Man 3. Now, this time they did not mess up the cover and it was done where it doesn't look very inaccurate. This game was different as it keeps that tradition alive of course. It has to in order to expand and try out some new features.
One noticeable moment was not just sliding but also you gained Rush. Now, Rush is a very handy tool and can help you out of situations that warrant it. You also get introduced to Proto Man, whom actually helps you in training bouts. It's like simulation battle in a sense but it works for this.
Anyhow, the story of this goes with Dr. Light and Dr. Wily working together to help mankind. Wily is trying to say he has changed his ways and wants to help build Gamma. Robots start attacking and Mega Man is out to take care of business as usual. After he destroys the robots of course, you learn that Dr. Wily was tricking everyone and had plans to of course take over the world.
Mega Man 3 Review
I would say that it doesn't have an overly complex story but it shows it's not always needed. This game was made two years after Mega Man 2. My personal opinion is that it was pretty fun to play and it is challenging. Sometimes you need a good challenge and this was a good example. Sure, you didn't have a lot of hints but it wasn't needed.
I say give this game a look and hopefully it will get on the Virtual Console. If you want to get this and get some other games from the Mega Man Classic series, go for Mega Man Anniversary Collection as it has the games you'll probably want to play.
