Castlevania 2 Review

April 22nd 2009 03:57
Castlevania 2 Simon’s Quest is a game that would later become a symbol of what would be seen in future Castlevania games. It is one where Simon Belmont is the main character and it follows the events of the first event. The plot in the game is pretty simple and right to the point. This is more of a game that would be an adventure/RPG as it introduced some RPG elements such as buying items and experience points to name a few points.

I'll try to get the others up ASAP. I just haven't gotten up to doing it at all. Probably due to taking time away from blogging. In regards to when will they be up, I'll try this week to get a couple up but no promises. Next one will be Castlevania 2.

You can apply to write on the site and it can be about anything video game wise.

Castlevania Review

February 17th 2009 21:56
Here is a classic game that everyone has probably heard of in terms of the gaming community. It is a classic game review being Castlevania. It is available on the NES and also on the Virtual Console. This would start a series that would become very popular over the years. Check the link at the end to read the review.

Memories of playing it were that it was challenging in its own right and should be regarded as that. It is never a bad thing to have a challenge come into play. Its story was pretty simple and nothing too complex. The plot was that Dracula's alive determined to take over the world.

Graphics for the time were good considering when it was made and plus it was the NES, what did you expect?

As far as game play goes, controls are easy and you can pick the weapons you want but can go up to throwing three of the same item out. For instance, the cross weapon can be thrown showing three of them choosing up and b for the attack.

Next 5 Reviews

January 29th 2009 02:03
I decided to plan out the next ones. Here they are as follows: The NES Castlevania Trilogy, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Super Castlevania IV. If anyone wants to join, I am fine with it. That would be great to have some more members.

The Ooze Review

December 28th 2008 02:50
This game however is different from others and was one that you never heard much about when it originally came out on the Sega Genesis. It is a very difficult game to beat given the amount of searching for DNAs to put your character back together. In this game, he is a man named Dr. Caine, whom for some reason looks a little bit like Bruce Banner with glasses.

The overview is that of the Legend of Zelda if you are familiar with its look as this game would be probably most remembered as the one that made the style famous. The levels are broken up like the Super Mario Bros. going 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, and so forth. There are five levels with three parts a piece.

The game play is pretty simple to follow but more can be read about it with the link below.

The Ooze Review.

The next reviews on here will be involving the Castlevania trilogy on the NES and maybe Bloodlines as well.

FX Fighter Review

December 1st 2008 07:58
It was one of the 1st 3D fighting games that I have ever played and one that doesn't get a lot of attention. This one is called FX Fighter and it is only available on DOS. It won't run on today's computer unless you got a DOS Emulator but even that may not work all the way. Maybe not on Vista but most likely you'd have to have an old computer that runs with DOS to get it to work.

FX Fighter puts you in a story where it is all about survival of the fittest. The mighty Rygil is undefeated and challenges you to a battle at the end in a gauntlet style where you will have to each opponent. Choose your fighter and begin play. You can set your own controls up with the keyboard or if you have a joystick, go ahead and use it.

If you win your battle, your opponents planet is destroyed and everyone is gone from that planet. In short, only the strong survive and the weak shall perish. It's a game that quite honestly wasn't bad for the time and sadly never got a console release so who knows how it would have done.

Cyben, Sheba, Venam, Kiko, Ashraf, Jake, Magnon, and Siren are the names of the characters involved in the game. My personal favorite is Cyben and has the most success with as well.

FX Fighter Review

Not likely to find anywhere in stores due to it being on DOS. Maybe online like Ebay or something of that nature.

Mega Man 9 Review

November 23rd 2008 08:18
This is it and it's time to take a look at Mega Man 9. It is available for download via WiiWare, Xbox Live, and the PlayStation Network. There is no need to worry about not finding it in any stores. Just download it and it will be yours. Try a free version if you really want to see if it is something you're playing.

This is the latest and maybe the last of the Classic Mega Man games ever made. It is in the old style of the NES games of the past. The difficulty is there and has that challenge factor. This one has more than the original ones. You got downloadable content including Hero and Super Hero modes if you wish to make the game much more difficult. There is the ability to play as Proto Man and complete 50 challenges.

Mega Man 9 Review

The story in this one involves a framing of Dr. Light. Eight Robot Masters that were built by Dr. Light are causing havoc across the land. Dr. Wily says he did nothing wrong but if you've played Mega Man games you know the drill on that situation. Stop the robots and this one has the 1st female Robot Master Splash Woman.

The game is different in the sense as mentioned all ready. You can't charge your buster or slide as it makes the game a bit more difficult. Look at the 1st 2 Mega Man games and compare it to the game play you have with this.

Proto Man mode gives you the ability to play as Proto Man, with sliding and using a charged shot of the Proto Man but there is one drawback. You have a chance to die faster than with Mega Man.

Check the link for the review in more detail. In closing, the game is good, worth playing especially if you're a major Mega Man fan.

May Need Some Extra Writers

October 31st 2008 01:26
I would like to state that I am open to have some new writers join in on this. What type of writers I'm looking can be those who are into gaming. It does not matter if you like console or PC games. No experience is required when writing at all and anyone can apply. As far as frequency, at the least I would like once a month. If you can do more, then great. You can review games, rants, thoughts on upcoming thoughts, and just anything gaming related. If you are a bit unsure on what to do and need to ask a question, fill free to message me or leave a comment and I will try to answer and be as clear as possible.

Castlevania has been known mainly as a 2D game but has had very few games go into 3D such as the N64 games being Castlevania 64, and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, PS2 having Lament of Innocence, and of course both PS2 and Xbox Version of Curse of Darkness. Today, I"m going to look at the game itself.

Now, this is pretty much the direct sequel to Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. The reason being is because it takes place three years after those events. Instead of starting the game as Trevor Belmont, you are introduced to a new character named Hector. He doesn't have a last name much like Mario and Luigi.

The only battle that probably might have been the easiest would have been Death. He just stands there and doesn't move like in some of the other Castlevania games.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness Review

I don't want to spoil too much but if you are into Castlevania, this is one you probably will want to take a look at.
